Zambian Delegation Explores Czech Agricultural Technologies

21. 9. 2026

From 14 to 18 September 2026, a ten-member delegation representing the Zambian agricultural sector visited the Czech Republic. The participants included representatives of commercial farms, agricultural machinery distributors and institutions involved in the development and modernisation of Zambian agriculture.

During the five-day programme, the delegation made 12 programme stops, travelled more than 1,000 kilometres across the Czech Republic and spent almost 17 hours on the road. The main objective was to introduce Czech agricultural technologies directly at their manufacturers and users, while creating opportunities for new business contacts and future cooperation.

From Czech manufacturers to technologies in practice

During the mission, the delegation visited Strojírny Rožmitál, SMS CZ, FARMTEC, BEDNAR FMT, Farmet, ZDT, SUKOV, VVS Verměřovice and other Czech technology suppliers. Participants also had the opportunity to see equipment from Eurobagging and Cernin operating directly on Czech farms. The programme also included a visit to Mendel University in Brno and its agricultural farm in Žabčice.

The programme went beyond machinery presentations. Discussions also focused on the use of individual technologies under Zambian conditions, distribution of Czech equipment on the local market, as well as opportunities for further commercial cooperation.

Development cooperation as an opportunity for Czech exports

The mission followed up on the ZAMAGRO – Mechanisation and Innovation for Growth of Commercial Agriculture in Zambia project, implemented with the support of the Czech Development Agency. Part of the programme was also supported through a PROPED economic diplomacy project.

One of AZET's key objectives in development projects is to connect solutions addressing the specific needs of partner countries with the capabilities of Czech manufacturers. In addition to its primary development objectives, such cooperation can help Czech companies introduce their technologies to new markets, establish local contacts and create a foundation for long-term commercial partnerships.

The incoming mission was prepared in cooperation with AZET, Caritas Czech Republic, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lusaka, the Czech Development Agency and Mendel University in Brno.
