SMS CZ enters the Japanese market

Czech agricultural machinery manufacturer SMS CZ is expanding its export activities to another important destination. The Rokycany-based company is now entering the Japanese market, where it will be represented by Kokusai Nohki Co., Ltd.

The partnership was established during last year’s Agritechnica trade fair in Germany. The first machines have already been shipped to Japan – specifically SMART 300 seed drills in various configurations. In the initial phase of cooperation, the Japanese partner is focusing primarily on machines designed for the maintenance of meadows and pastures.

According to SMS CZ Managing Director Petr Jirsa, opening the Japanese market represents an important export milestone. The company also believes that other machines from its product range, particularly soil cultivation equipment, will gradually find success in Japan.

Export is one of the key pillars of SMS CZ. Machines from western Bohemia are now exported to more than 35 countries worldwide. In addition to European markets, important export destinations include New Zealand, Canada and South Africa. Entry into Japan therefore represents another step in the company’s long-term strategy to develop its international business activities.
