Mendel University in Brno (MENDELU) is a public university focused on agriculture, forestry, horticulture, economics, technology, and environmental sciences. Its history dates back to 1919, when it was established as the University of Agriculture in Brno. Today, it bears the name of Gregor Johann Mendel, the founder of genetics, who worked in Brno.
The university consists of six faculties: the Faculty of AgriSciences, the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology, the Faculty of Horticulture in Lednice, the Faculty of Business and Economics, the Faculty of Regional Development and International Studies.
