The Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU) is a leading public university focused on agriculture, forestry, environmental sciences, food production, economics, and technical disciplines. It was founded in 1906 as part of the Czech Technical University and has operated as an independent institution since 1952. The university is located in the Prague district of Suchdol, where it boasts a large, modern campus with extensive facilities for education, research, and student accommodation.
CZU consists of six faculties: the Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources; the Faculty of Economics and Management; the Faculty of Engineering; the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences; the Faculty of Environmental Sciences; and the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences.
CZU is consistently ranked among the leaders in research and international cooperation in the fields of sustainable development, precision agriculture, digitalization, and advanced technologies for agriculture and rural development. Strong ties with industry and active participation in applied research projects are also key elements of the university’s mission.
